Kite AI — is a specialized Layer 1 blockchain, designed to support autonomous AI agents and build the agentic internet. The platform combines cryptographic identity, programmable governance, and instant payments, while also introducing a new type of consensus — Proof of Attributed Intelligence (PoAI). The project is actively backed by leading venture funds and technology corporations, aiming to become the foundation for the new digital economy.

Kite AI — specialized Layer 1 blockchain

Architecture and Concept

Kite AI is built as an EVM-compatible blockchain with its own extension KiteVM, enabling it to handle workloads associated with artificial intelligence. Its architecture is modular: the network core ensures blockchain and PoAI consensus operation, while SDKs, APIs, and the agent ecosystem function on top. This approach allows the platform to be integrated into various sectors — from commerce to enterprise solutions.

The main goal of the project is to create a «trust layer» for the agentic internet. Here each agent can obtain a unique digital identity, manage resources, and interact directly with other agents without intermediaries. This forms a transparent environment where artificial intelligence becomes a full-fledged participant in the economy.

In addition, the architecture takes scalability and security into account. Developers can easily deploy their solutions, and users can access services without complex setup. In the future, this may lead to the creation of entire networks of autonomous services that communicate with each other directly.

PoAI Consensus and Its Difference from Other Models

One of the key elements of Kite AI's architecture is the unique consensus mechanism — Proof of Attributed Intelligence (PoAI). It was designed specifically to account for the intellectual contribution of ecosystem participants: from data providers to agent developers and validators. Unlike traditional models, where value is determined by resources or capital, PoAI focuses on usefulness and transparency of actions in the network.

Consensus Basic Principle Application Features
PoW (Proof of Work) Computational power High energy consumption, transaction verification
PoS (Proof of Stake) Token staking Network security, delegation incentives
PoAI (Proof of Attributed Intelligence) Validation of data and model contributions Fair rewards for intellectual value

This system emphasizes equal opportunities for all participants, regardless of their capital or hardware power. In the Kite AI ecosystem, those who truly create value are rewarded: improving models, providing reliable data, or building efficient algorithms. This forms a sustainable knowledge economy where contribution is measured by quality, not quantity.

Thanks to PoAI, it becomes possible to build a network where artificial intelligence is the main actor, and resource distribution occurs with maximum transparency. In the long run, this could become a new standard for blockchains focused on AI applications.

Key Ecosystem Elements

The Kite AI ecosystem is built around fundamental functions that ensure the operation of autonomous agents and their interactions with each other. These elements form the basis of trust, control, and transparency in the digital environment, where most processes are performed by algorithms rather than humans.

  1. Identity & Auth — unique cryptographic identity for agents and services.

  2. Programmable Governance — flexible governance with delegated powers and configurable rules.

  3. Agentic Payments — fast transactions between agents with minimal fees.

These capabilities transform AI agents into independent economic actors who can negotiate, buy or sell services, and even manage investment assets. This approach removes barriers and enables the transition from centralized services to decentralized agentic ecosystems.

Each of these components is closely interconnected. Identity ensures traceability of actions, governance sets the behavioral framework, and payments guarantee execution of obligations. Together, they create a self-sufficient infrastructure for digital agents.

Participant Roles and Interaction Principles

The Kite AI ecosystem covers several key roles. Users pay for services and access. Validators confirm transactions and agent operations, ensuring network security. Delegators support validators through staking and receive rewards. Developers create new agents and modules, while data providers supply the system with training datasets.

This role distribution creates a balance of interests. Each participant contributes and receives fair compensation. As a result, a sustainable network is formed where all parties are interested in ecosystem growth.

Importantly, this structure opens opportunities for collaboration. Large corporations can integrate their services into the ecosystem, while independent developers can launch niche products. This makes the network flexible and adaptive to any use cases.

Team, Funding and Prospects

Kite AI was founded in 2024. The project leaders are Chi Zhang (CEO), formerly at Databricks and UC Berkeley, and Scott Shi (CTO), with experience at Uber and Salesforce. In September 2025, the project raised $18 million in a Series A round, with investors including General Catalyst, PayPal Ventures, Animoca Brands, Samsung Next and others.

Development prospects include the launch of tokenomics and expansion of the agent ecosystem. The backing of major funds and unique architecture make Kite AI one of the most notable projects at the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence.

In the future, the team plans integration with leading Web3 platforms, allowing agents to interact not only within Kite AI but also beyond. This step will strengthen the project's influence and bring it closer to becoming the standard infrastructure for the AI economy.
