A hackathon at Harvard will be organized in collaboration with the educational platform EasyA, featuring 200 developers competing for a prize pool of $35,000.
Problem Statement and Goals of the Hackathon
The hackathon aims to demonstrate the potential of combining Flare’s interoperability protocols with XRPL’s payment infrastructure. Organizers expect participants to showcase innovations in decentralized finance, real-world asset tokenization, and consumer-facing applications.
Areas of Application Development
Participants will be tasked with developing applications across three main categories: financial products anchored in real-world data; composable decentralized applications (dApps) blending XRPL and Flare features; and lightweight consumer applications with creative use cases.
Working with Technological Tools
Workshops led by Flare engineers will provide attendees with hands-on exposure to technologies such as smart accounts, FAssets, and oracles. Participants will also learn how XRPL accounts can control contracts deployed on Flare.
The Harvard hackathon will be a significant event for expanding the XRPFi ecosystem, showcasing how the integration of Flare and XRPL technologies can unlock new opportunities for developers and users.
