Gala Games, a well-known blockchain gaming platform, has introduced the GalaChain blockchain network's test phase after months of development. The GalaChain TestNet is now accessible for developers to deploy and test chain code securely. In a blog post on July 30, Gala Games confirmed the launch of GalaChain TestNet for developers to assess its functionality. Initially announced in August 2023, Gala Games migrated unsold and reserved NFTs to the new GalaChain network.
Launched in 2019, Gala Games is a play-to-earn gaming platform on the blockchain that rewards players with digital assets like crypto tokens and non-fungible tokens based on their in-game achievements. The native token of Gala Games is GALA, utilized to secure the platform and incentivize players. The platform offers various gaming tiers, including real-time strategy (RTS), multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), and role-playing games (RPGs). While these tiers vary across titles, players receive digital assets such as GALA and NFTs.
Although Gala Games operates on the Ethereum blockchain, it has collaborated with chains within the Ethereum ecosystem, like Polygon, to facilitate transactions at lower gas fees. The team plans to transition operations to GalaChain, its independent blockchain network, following the mainnet launch, powered by the GALA token as the medium of exchange for transactions within the platform.
Gala Games employs decentralized computer networks instead of centralized servers to provide play-to-earn games. The platform features popular games such as Town Star, Mirandus, Spider Tanks, Fortitude, and Echoes of Empire, offering diverse gameplay experiences to a broad player base.
Related to the NFT space, Gala Games continues to innovate within the blockchain ecosystem.
