Trust Wallet, a popular self-custodial web wallet, launches support for tokenized real-world assets (RWAs), including US stocks and ETFs.
Access to Tokenized Assets
Tokenized real-world assets are digital tokens that mirror the price movements of major U.S. stocks and ETFs. Each token is designed to track the value of its underlying asset, allowing users to access traditional financial markets in a tokenized form.
Partnerships and Technology
To facilitate this functionality, Trust Wallet has partnered with Ondo Finance and 1inch. Ondo Finance provides tokenized stocks, ETFs, and bonds issued through smart contracts. These tokens are initially issued on Ethereum with plans for Solana support in the future. The integration of the 1inch Swap API simplifies transactions with tokenized assets.
Regional Restrictions and Market Access
Access to tokenized RWAs is limited by region; they are not available to users in the United States, United Kingdom, or European Union. Trading is available 24 hours a day, five days a week, following U.S. market hours.
The introduction of tokenized assets in Trust Wallet represents an important step towards more open and accessible financial markets, allowing users to interact with traditional financial instruments in a decentralized environment.
